Multiplayer Game Shows, Sony Online

WHAT WE DID
User Testing
Awards Invision 1999
ID Magazine 1999
Our multi-player user studies and recommendations helped Sony design better games. Needing to know how online contestants might behave, Sony asked us to user test their multi-player game shows where we ran up to four observations simultaneously.
Jeopardy Online: Simultaneous observations offered new insights into multi-player game play and opportunities to make the games more engaging.
Wheel of Fortune Online: We found that group interaction dramatically changes game play patterns, pacing, and the way users interact. Sometimes it becomes the main attraction.
The Dating Game Online & Trivia Pursuit: Refinements made over two years of testing helped Sony Online perfect the multi-player online game show experience.

Cinema in Industry 2000
We made interacting with 500 issues as MAD as the magazine itself.
Wanting more than a reference product, The Learning Company asked us to design the interaction MAD magazine fans were clamoring for. So to start we let them browse every cover.
Once inside our flexible viewing tools let users flip, fold, spin, panic, and link to "more garbage like this." They can read the magazine nearly any way they want (where permissible by law).
Wacky search interface makes finding all Movie Parodies featuring Spam, a piece of cake.
Direct access to animated, audio delights from "the usual gang of idiots."

Without switching screens, the interface offers users no fuss access to hundreds of cosmetics, hats, glasses, even bridal veils to go with their new look. They can even save their favorites.

We made the most advanced CD burning software for the Mac even easier than Toast.
Roxio, Adaptec’s new software company, hired us to improve Toast's legendary ease of use to capture the exploding market for CD recording.
XEODesign's visually crisp and almost transparent screen art enhances Toast's redesigned nearly effortless CD creation process.
Large friendly tabs give beginning users easy access to the CD formats they use the most.
Advanced features remain equally accessible to the professional.
